Default Drive trim indicator

Anyone take one of these apart? How tough is the spring?
Both of my drive indicators only come out about an inch.
I did a search but did not find anything about taking these apart. I want to do so to see if they are fould or do I need cables.

They are simple to take apart and put back together. You most likely just have some build up or sand inside the tubes.

These are the types of cables I bought. I purchased new throttle, shift and tab cables for mine and my parents boat. (8 cables total) They are really good quality and a very good price. I think Rookie on here uses the same cables and he was the one that set me onto the Pretech brand.

Thanks for the heads up on the cables. Too bad they are black, would have to change them all out.

They don't make the red jacket cables anymore. New cables are black or blue .

They may not make them red any more ...(I didn't realize that) but there are plenty of red 33c cables still out there
