Default alpha and bravo. same length?

i read somewhere alpha and bravo have same distance between shafts. (bravo 2 not withstanding) i thought there was a diff. i am looking at a TRS boat without power and i own an alpha set-up, so i could do a budget conversion and replace with bravo when the right package shows up.as long as i don't need 2 different x-dims for the 2 drives. any info appreciated.
