Default merc #6 drives

Looking with interest at something listed with speed master #6 drives . Any info on there reliability . How do they compare to a merc product ?They are hooked up to 572 super charged V8's .Is that power a big headache ? Should I walk away Thanks for your thoughts ahead . Am 57 retired Toolmaker / Moldmaker and looking at this project.

the speedmaster#6 drive is made by mercury marine.if you are talking about the mercury marine sc800[572 cu in]it is rated at 750 hp,that,s pretty mild for an engine that size and they are a pretty reliable engine.

I was going to post "Darr" too last night when I saw this, but I didn't think Darr could sit on a user name for 4 years.

Mike ,thanks for responding to my post of long ago . Posted yesterday in the old school forum. Maybe wrong place .Could you comment on this power set up hooked up to a supercharger on the top end as to its reliability . Also must i burn only hi octane fuel or can damage result with the system setup? Thanks much for your patience MIKEP.
