I'm reading conflicting answers on whether a Bravo III 2.0 upper unit and a Bravo I 1.5 upper unit are the same. Can anyone clear up the confusion?
I have a Bravo III 2.0 upper on my boat. If I bolt up a Bravo I 1.50 lower unit to it, would it be identical to a complete Bravo I 1.50?

I have a customer who has the same issue. His boat wont go past 50 mph he states. The upper says b3 and I don't know what lower he has. 1.36 or 1.5 . I'm used too the xr and don't know much on the b1. Any help would be appreciated.

B 3 's came in different ratios accomplished by upper gears, should be stamped in side of case on decal. Difference between 1.36 and 1.5 is solely in upper 1.36 having 29/27 and 1.5 having 32/27 both lowers have 15/19 count gears.
