Bmax won't work with standoff boxes and wing plates on twins unless you do major mods.

SCX's here and they are doing great.

Thank you for mention my drive but I have the SC extreme advantage drive for sale that also use the xr gears only in a better upper casing ,the SCX is a totaly different animal and even more expensive .

I put a Bmax on my 28 Nordic this year, just the upper. My boat doesn't chew up lowers. Didn't lose any speed, I run an extension box. The Bmax has a HUGE untapped back cap, you can drill the steering anywhere you want. I talked to both, went with the Bmax. John has the best customer service/product support that I have ever dealt with in the marine industry.

Good luck-

launchpad475 what gear ratio did you get with the Bmax. I've always heard no 1:35 available with Bmax. Reason I ask is I may need to upgrade and the Bmax bolts to the existing transom assembly.

Kinda depends on what you run for lower gears. I ran 1.36 in my previous bravo set up, and because of that he was able to make me a 1.38 ratio with the options of combo's that were available. That turned out to be ideal for me, I needed a little RPM anyway and I think it helped compensate turning the bigger gear case and what not. And I think you are right, don't quote me on this but I think what's available is 1.3 and 1.5, or maybe 1.2 and 1.5.

You can run the bmax on a box with a single but not twins. Call John he will tell you. He is super knowledgeable. I was ready to pull the trigger and he told me what hell it was with twins and box's

So I went SCX. Either way you will have bigger drives and can drive like its stolen! I do!!!!
