LOL... I like it... keep it coming... I won't tell you what a surveyor said for my insurance company stated the root cause was... but I can tell you I hit an object underwater at about 50...

I broke mine when I hit one of those tree huggin paddle boar.........a log!
1st glance it looks like your hinge pin came out. Looks like the screws are broken. But why would the pin still be around?
IMCO's are wider around the pin hole/stronger.

I hit a log at 50, it sheared the heads off the bolts for the pins but they can't come out when the drive is straight.

Let me guess, they blamed a broken Ujoint....or parking lot impact. LOL. Okay, not really funny.

I won't post the actual survey report yet but yes, one fact they mentioned was that u-joint failure was the cause for my failure... Wear and tear I believe lol. Per the merc reps, the gimbal ring won't crack from a u-joint failure but from an impact... This guy even listed my motors as 700+ hp just from looking at the outside of them... Love to know how he does his math. On top of that, motors have stock 575sci fuel injection system which he stated was replaced with a larger system that pushes the motors past their operational capacity...

Mine was in Whiskey Slew in the delta, As I remember it I was just sittin' there in my boat and a log came underneath the boat at 50-55ish, drive looked a lot like yours.

A buddy was in the Gulf of Mexico lost propulsion engine on revlimiter looks back sees piling bobbing vertical. Looks behind boat no outdrive (NEW boat 2ND. time out)Gets towed to ramp, pulling boat out to staging area he hears a dragging sound, its the outdrive with shift cable attached.
