Sorry for the late update but here it goes.... Took the boat out two weeks ago and so far the drive works great. Solved my handling issues and is already at least 5mph faster on my deal with a prop that is not quite right.... Now the bad news for me. On my last run to attempt to air it out and see how it does a stock rod broke in the engine. But no worries at this point all that I'm waiting on to get it back together is my new Callies crank and rods to get here Monday then a little head work and we'll be putting this thing back together with more power for testing.
What RPM are you turning with he new drive compared to the TRS? Do you feel the drive gearing caused some of the issues?
I will be interested in hearing more when you are back testing.
Thanks for the update!

That's the big issue right now for doing a twin conversion but I'm working at it. On my deal being a single and left steer I'm gonna switch to a left hand prop to make it drive forward in forward gear.
It's kinda screwed up that merc made the lowers different on the trs instead of the uppers as far as left and right goes.

Regardless I'm very excited about your project. I've been plagued by the deep TRS drives on my Scarab for far too long. Of all the options out there to gain a more aggressive X dimension for my set up, I am most interested in what you are putting together.

Biggus,
I understand why you have been a huge advocate for Konrad, no doubt they make a solid product. But even with their shorty lower, I would only be a total of (according to your post) 3.4 inches higher than my current TRS. If the bolt on product discussed on this tread can attain 4.75 inches shorter .... well it just makes me curious to wait and see what happens here.

Sorry for the lack of updates but I'm waiting on getting my heads, intake and oil pan back from getting Teflon coated then we'lll be able to get the engine on the dyno and back in the boat for more testing. Probably going to be in the market for something along the lines of a 26p left hand bravo one prop if anyone has a deal on one

Sorry to hear you had engine issues, but it sounds like you will have a strong bottom end with the upgraded rods and crank. Great news the outdrive held together and had a solid mph gain.
