Installed my Halo max this weekend. The mounting bolts that attach the wing plates to the Bravo upper are in the way to mount the top left bolt for the shower. The supplied 3/8-16 3" bolt is not long enough. I had to buy a 3.5" bolt to clear. This spaces the shower back a tad farther, but nothing rubs or hits. Can't wait to try it out. Last summer running with no shower, I had bad white chalking buildup on the upper even though the oil came out looking new.

I assure you - you won't have the white chalk present- It looks like you got everything cleaned off - I've used toilet bowl cleaner to get the outdrive like new. However, once I put the shower on - all I do is wax it a couple of times a season.

All the best

Sounds good. That's what I'm shooting for.

Is the heat issue the showers address applicable to VP drives, especially the duoprop? if so, do comparable components exist for the VP?

If you are referring to the Volvo Penta outdrive. As you know, heat is the biggest culprit to any motor, Simrek Drive showers (Halo Max) will lower your oil temperature 65 degrees. The Summit Max will lower the oil temperature 50-55 degrees.
Halo Fits on the Bravo outdrives and Summits fit on the Alpha outdrives.
To my knowledge, I'm not sure if anyone has manufactured a drive shower for Volvo Penta outdrives.
Hope this helps.

What is on your exhaust tips? How do they work? (I've never seen those before)

They are Hardin Marine stainless flappers. Same principle as the black rubber Salisbury flappers. Just more bling......

The Halo works the best and is easy to install.
