Whatever money you think you are going to save on the front end, you will surely spend and then some on the back end fixing broken bravos. Not to mention the down time.

i couldn't agree more, but like i told the guy i bought the boat from, after i have a mild engine built / bought , the transom cut for a b1, and exhaust, up will pop a complete 4 or 5 package

So do any of you great Speedmaster fans have dimensioned drawings of an SSMIII transom assembly & cut-out then?

I appreciate that, what Im trying to avoid doing is gutting the drive train out of the boat until sich time as I have a pre prepared solution.

We're only a couple of hobbyists having an occasional go at racing, so its not like we have days & days to spend rigging boats.

thanks for all your help

Just stumbled onto this thread. Not sure if you're aware but Konrad makes a bolt on replacement for the SSMIII. It retains the existing SSM transom assembly. It uses a 1.25" prop shaft so you can run Bravo style props. If interested, shooot me an email to [email protected] and I'll forward the info.

page 3 post 28 a speed master transom jig, sounds like it would have to be on the honor system in case some one needed it first or second
have to preserve it for some one else

the bravo end of it would be a paper cutout diagram there about 3 bucks, that will give you the dimensions you need except for how long the box is but if you have an its shaft i think your there, except for who could fab it up.
