Default lower bravo shift cable

Hello all. I just got home after changing the lower shift cable on my B3, and realized that I put the sealing gasket outside of the bell, as compared to inside, under the retaining nut. I used plenty of the perfect seal. Do I need to do it over? Am I missing an outside gasket? It seems to make more sense to seal the water out of the bell, instead of allowing it into the cable cavity (barring the perfect seal) . Any thoughts?

Are you talking about the plastic bushing that snaps in place on the transom plate and then the cable slides thru it?

That makes sense to me, but the diagram def shows the gasket under the retaining nut, inside the bell housing. I'm with you Mac, and thanks for the input. It seems silly to rely on the perfect seal to keep the water out
