Default ugh need help

so I have early 90's ssm IV's with prestolite plastic bodied old style trim pumps with bolt on control valve on the bottom of square black reservoir, drive was dropping under load and sitting on trailer, switched lines to opposite drive pump and drive stayed up, took pump out and drained, was full of black crap so I took it all apart and cleaned it, now I need to know where the ball bearings go back, so if anyone has experience or pictures please let me know.

Thanks

Yoiu have check valves that are leaking. They sell a rebuild kit that isn't too expensive. I suggest you rebuild the pump and I believe the rebuild kit has preatty good instructions. I would hate to see you put it back together and still have the same problem.

Thanks for the input, boat only has 250 hours and theses pumps less than that, by the looks of the valve bodies wear is minimal or non existent, assembly and install is a 15 minute job just trying to ensure it is reassembled properly.

If the drive slowly goes down you HAVE a damaged check valve OR something stuck in it.
