Blew up XR ITS Upper
anybody ever blow out the gear connected to the driveshaft breaking off about a inch of the case snout the seals against the bellows in the helmet? I took the drive off and the gear , driveshaft are stuck in the boat, the broken off piece against the bellows wiggles, but, I think maybe the drive shaft is wedged into the coupler at the splines, is there a tool to grab the gear at the end of the driveshaft and pull it back? I’m hoping the end of the crank is ok, I don’t know if you push the driveshaft all the way through the coupler if it would hit th

Sounds to me like you broke a tooth off and it went between the two gears and drove the input gear and snout into the gimbals.
I would just use two pry bars and blocks of wood to pry it out.
Your drive is probably out of alignment just enough to make it hard to get the shaft out.
I don't think that the input shaft is driven forward much more than normal. It is just stuck

YES! ive been trying the pry deal with a 1” Allen against the case, but only one side, I’ve got to find a way to pry both sides at once. FYI, all gears tower upper shaft bearings seals, the works , less than 13 hours ago. I would feel better if I was going 100 and coming out of the water, but it was just a 45mph Cruze,,,, uuugh. I assume I have to get a new case

I bought a whole new drive. Gutted the lower and used it later when starboard blew up. These drives were original, never been touched right at 300 hr mark. Original owners never ran the boat hard and cruised small lakes in Wisconsin. We buy it and I rail it at poker runs for a season blowing the cobwebs out. So no complaints on my end, should have rebuilt the drives from the start of our ownership.

I took the pinion nut off, threaded the on a nut and connected it to a slide hammer, and take a couple pops at it, it will probably pull the bellow sleeve out of the bellow, but it’s going to be beat up anyway
