Not that I recommend it.. If I HAD the $$ I'd be running an SCX with the dual downshaft lower

30 hours thus far with 1020 hp in a 29' single and I DON'T baby it..

I just give my drive a big hug when I make it back to the dock..
(and check the magnets, run good oil and change it frequently)

525’s in a 35 fountain.

Who wants a performance boat that you drive like a crusier?
100-130 hours was the consensus with 600’s. Which could be a lot of years for some, couple years for others. And your last sentence is spot on, who does that?

High X but been using 4 blades now. Did some mods to props so it pops up on plane and this guy never flys the boat.

That sound about right for the hours before the gears start to pit. Seems they do that even with 525's. Was boating over in Ft Myers last year and met a dude that was up to, I think 170, in his Baja and said he just has spares,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, never had gotten one that far! LOL

Run some drive guardians n have a spare. There relative cheap drives 1000 hs in a 29. . It won’t last but will help. 900 to 1000 on a xr. Forget about it 😁
