No she is still in the water will pull out today I wound up switching props to be able to use all the motors to get back figured what ever broke at that rpm has already trashed the insides drive that broke was RH rotation so took and switched outside drive props and ran them in reverse the boat has triples in it

I had a driven gear crack between teeth and eventually break the cup off of the gear, might be that

I had this happen once. It was a set screw that backed out; and travelled though the drive turning everything into apple sauce. I lost reverse, but I can’t remember which side/rotation. I thought it was a cable issue and ran it for the rest of the weekend.

I don't recommend running it at all.

Next time.... swap the props on the drives, put the boat in reverse and you're back to full power to get home before dark.

You may want to talk to Matt at TNT... or, Brian Jackson at Offshore Outdrives.

If they're built and maintained properly, there's no need for that -ever.

I had the same issue with my boat on the 4th. No forward but reverse worked. it ended up being the upper thrust bearing had been completely chewed up! Which took out the upper gear, clutch shaft and all the bearings. Lucky for me, I had a new gearset, clutch shaft and bearings, and I wasn't only down a few days.

Have you torn into yours yet to see what the issue was?
