What lube were you using before the switch to Amsoil? Did you change the drives when you started using Amsoil? Wondering if it is worth switching. I have twin Yanmar Diesels with X diesel drives. I (BAM Marine) rebuilt them at almost 1000 hours because I had pitting in the upper gears. I almost never leave the water but do run hard occasionally and often do runs to Bahamas with a lot of weight on the boat.

the have mostly had only Mercury HP gear lube. But maybe you have a point. If it ain’t broke. |
If anyone's interested I'll sell mine.
Mike rebuilt them for me and I believe there set for 725hp. Still in the boxes. Both for $3000 plus shipping |
