The SCX set up is expensive but maybe it’s worth it so that you have the reliability and option for higher engine power. Having the peace of mind when running hard makes using the boat more fun.

I'm thinking scx even though xr fits my budget a little better. Then I think I'll be good even if I decide to upgrade power down the road

how much power is your engine making ?

that's what I was figuring. It's a big nut but then I'm hoping I'm done for a long time as far as my drive goes

Thanks for that. I've been reading this is actually where a lot of drives do fail.

my old boat was the same way. I always think it's going to happen when I go to get on plane or send it out of the water but both times were when I was taking it easy. This one a little more catastrophic than that one lol

RR,

Talk with George at AADS. He quoted me about $7K for a XR/XZ hybrid and no core swap that was good for 700HP for 500 hrs without the parasitic loss of the XR gears and a 2yr warrantee. While this setup won't work for you, especially with a potential repower down the road, I'm sure he could get you there for a lot less than an SCX.

Just food for thought.

Thanks. Brad.

If you can spend the money defiantly go SCX even the SC is better than an XR
