The SCX set up is expensive but maybe it’s worth it so that you have the reliability and option for higher engine power. Having the peace of mind when running hard makes using the boat more fun.

when it went I was around 4000 rpm calm water. Boat is a 28 pantera speed I'm unsure of. Probably around 55mph. I'd say it was under a pretty light load

Talk with George at AADS. He quoted me about $7K for a XR/XZ hybrid and no core swap that was good for 700HP for 500 hrs without the parasitic loss of the XR gears and a 2yr warrantee. While this setup won't work for you, especially with a potential repower down the road, I'm sure he could get you there for a lot less than an SCX. Just food for thought. Thanks. Brad. we run a natural 540 with 780 + on a 25 thunder we turn it hard up to 6800 its a standard XR with a stock 26p bravo prop we dont hammer it till above 4000 can get on plane with 10 people and have had no drive issues
