Default Bravo 3 info/help

So we are starting to look to upgrade our current boat to something like Formula 330 SS. Buddy I have has a '97 and said it was a great boat with 7.4's, but he recommended staying away from Bravo 3's? Guess he had a insurance issue and took out a drive and here in Ontario Canada, was just over $20,000 to get the drive off and replaced? I thought that was quite fishy but just asking for guys help and input on these. I thought B3's were a good drive?

Thanks John

15 yrs and not trouble with mine. Put a new clutch in last season but that's it. Regular oil changes. The only issue is corrosion. They are known to have corrosion problems

17years on my Bravo3 X drives. Strongly suggest a quality drive shower as they run HOT!

Mine lasted 13 years/450 hours behind a 496 MAG before needing a full rebuild as the lower gear set began to pit and run metal thru the drive. Under $5K for a full rebuild thru AADS and that included re-chroming the prop shafts.

Thanks guys, so there not super terrible and a private guy can get parts. They probably just ripped of the insurance company for that big bill.

Maybe not a full rip, a new drive cost 10,500 for B1, B2 or B3. If its a Seacore drive then about another 1K. Add labor, pulling the boat and other stuff. Then being in Canada the cost would be more as well
