They are mounted unusually close in to the centerline, I’ll guess they weren’t done at the factory. That said, I agree with bajaman, if they work well, don’t bother moving them.

If you want an argument why they are better in close……..when your boat is running fast, the outer chines are barely touching the water, especially through a bit of chop. It’s logical that closer to the Vee, there’s deeper contact with the water most of the time so your tabs would have more effect. Would that contact be enough to outweigh the ‘law of the lever’ principle applied to positioning them further outward? I don’t know…….

Took them off I see how it runs without them… if it comes worst I try them at the far end as possible. I see old fishing boats the the tabs so close.
