Default Tabs location

Here it is
Need some feedback . I saw my trim tabs are very close to the drive and when I see pictuers of other boats see that the tabs are at the far end of the transom . What you experts suggest I relocate them ?

Does the drive or prop hit the tabs when turned to full lock?

Do they work/alter the running angle of the boat and side to side stability?

if you answered No and Yes, don’t worry about it. All boats are different and respond differently to tab input. If you’ve got a pad bottom and she runs fast, there’s a chance the tabs would barely touch the water at speed if they were mounted further outward.

Post a pic, there’s a lot of guys on here, a lot smarter than me. You should get some answers.

Looking at the hull design, it looks like you're limited in how far out they could be mounted anyway. Maybe another 6"?

This position looks like it would work fine, but when leveling it you may have to use more tab than a hull with them mounted farther out.

I'd boat with it as is and see if it works as it should for now. if it doesn't work, then fix it

What hull is that? What is the story here...did you just get the boat? Have you driven it yet? If so, is it displaying any worrisome signs?
It would be interesting to see some picture or video of the boat running at speed.

To me they look way too deep . Do you know if they were installed by the previous owner (if any) or factory ?
If your transom is flat all the way across re-locating them if you wish would be perfectly do-able as long as there's no obstructions inside .

Understood...but if the boat is performing well, there is no reason to move them. ONLY if there was an issue that was compromising performance should/would there be a need to move them. I looked at dozens of boats like yours on the Internet and all of them have the tabs mounted further outboard so your concern is understandable...but again, unless you simply don't like them there, as long as performance isn't affected, you COULD leave them. If you want them to look more like the other boats, by all means move them...it is YOUR boat after all. I personally am just always hesitant to put more holes in a transom.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Since you have the boat up on blocks. Move the tabs as far outboard as you can. The reaction time will be faster and you'll have more stability.
