Default SmartCraft Gateway For Northstar

Before I buy a new one, I thought I would check if anyone had a used one they would like to get rid of...or if anyone had advice for, or against it.

Have a Northstar M84 that I would like to get data to.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I am just looking to get any and all information I can get. Fuel usage, alarms, fault codes, etc... Anything you dont like about yours? Any data you dont get that you wished you did?
Thanks,
Ryan

I have one on my lowrance HDS7 and it pulls in more information that you will ever need. Alarms will only go off on the data pulled into the system. For example, IAC valve went bad and I go the beep alarm through the boat electronics but through the smartcraft gateway. I have a Baja 25 outlaw and it doesn't pull fuel level, apparently I need a fuel level sensor connected from the sending unit to the nmea2000 network

Opening this back up for discussion again.

I cannot find this gateway. It is a discontinued product. Nearly every site reflects this. A few that did not reflect "out of stock" or "discontinued" I tried, only to get a notification later that it is not available.

Anyone know where I might be able to source one? Am I just out of luck?

Simrad Twin Engine Smartcraft Gateway - SKU (CWR-28804) (AA010188)

Thanks in advance!

Ryan

I know nothing about electronics, but my boat was rigged with a Northstar gateway but has a Simrad GPS. I'm assuming they're interchangeable

Thank you for this information, joketchum. What display are you feeding this to on your boat?
I "guess" this would work with my M84. The manual only speaks of a smartcraft gateway, but not NMEA2000. I could assume that is the protocol it is receiving, but that's an expensive assumption. Also, I do not currently have a NMEA2000 network, but it looks like it comes with everything I would need.
