Does anyone have any MEFI 5 bin files that would be willing to share? Preferably 383 or 350 but i think a bbc file could be scaled fairly easy

I spoke with bob and MEFI burn and he wasn't overly helpful. I was planning on purchasing mefi burn to tune my 5b (350 originally) for a 383. He does not offer any base tunes to start from ( some posts reference seems he used to?) So options are $500 for him to load a 383 tune on that i can't touch or buy mefi burn for 1k but I am on my own starting a tune from scratch.

I've tuned several sandalones (tuner pro, tunerstudio and haltec) but never had this much issue getting a base tune.

Almost seems like going to a 0411 pcm and dealing with all the gauges would be the same amount of work!

I have bad news for you , You`re not going to figure out Mefi on your own unless you`re like a GM engineer.
A base tune will do nothing for you.
There`s things in there that not even tuners know what it is.
I bought Mefii burn, it was only $500-600

I was planning on buying mefi burn, its $995 now. The issue is my indmar 350 tune will be locked so I will have to just wipe the PCM. There are no refference tune files available to start from so the only option is to creat a bin file from scratch? Seems crazy, I have been able to find a workable reference or base tune for every other pcm or standalone I have ever worked on.

IDK anyone thats tuning mefi5s yet, without a base file, your on your own and it would be a waste of money to buy it since there are contless tables that need to be populated with farctional numbers that if anything like mefi4 would be impossible to fill like map filtering numbers, anticipation numbers etc, stuff thats all fractional with multipliers etc. There is countless things in the simpler 1-4 mefis that are like that where its not cut and dried and I can only imagine mefi5 would be even more complex, Smitty

and now you see why people remove the merc stuff and go aftermarket.find something you used before and apply it.
