28's with T-496HO's?
#11
I had a 2006 28 W/496 H.O.'s for 5 summers on Havasu and loved it. It has been by far the best Lake boat I have owned . Over that time period i only changed the fluids , impellers and one set of spark plugs, thats it . My boat ran 105-106 consistantly (bravo 32p labbed , IMCO 1" Shorties) and i am sure with fine tuning and a set of Herings it could hit 110 mph.
I truly regret selling that boat and would buy another any day.

I have one and the fastest I have ever seen is 96.5 down in havasu. I just got a set of 31p 4 blade herrings that I am going to try tommorow....well see how that works. I had trouble spinning 32's on my boat. My boat also has std lowers.
If you are looking for a boat that has 496's I would make sure it has a tunnel tab so you can get it on a plane easy.

I have an 01 tall deck.. runs high 80's... Best I have seen is 93. It runs 4 blades right now and could use 5 blades.. but good reliable set up in my mind.. Doesn't plane bad, but it is by no means fast to get up. PS its for sale if intrested

I have a friend with a 30 Daytona, stock HO496s, boat runs 96-100 all day long, so I would think a 28 would run easily over 100+mph, turnkey, user friendly motors.
