they are definately screwed on underneath, not molded. Maybe that means aftermarket, not sure how Eliminator does it. My Carrera cat had a factory molded scoop.

The ones on jdnca1's boat are like the ones on my talldeck and my friend's talldeck. They are made by Harwood and mine are screwed or riveted.

Mine came installed from the factory as did my friends.

jdna, Did you get your 28 from Robert Brown in pryor oklahoma? If so, do you want to sell it? I'm looking for a twin 28 daytona.

Yes it's Robert's old boat. I'm still having too much fun with it to let it go...maybe in a couple of years when I decide to step up to a 33 Daytona.

I called robert the other day to see if he wanted to sell his 28 and he told me he had sold it a few years ago. ( I was sick). He now has a 36 and he is thinking of selling it. E-mail me and I will give you my phone number. When you are ready to sell I would like to talk. Thanks. Gary Smith

If your boat is the one that I think it is The factory did your scoops. The first owner is the owner of the Out Back Steak Houses, He decided he would rather have a Cruiser.I have some pictures of it inside and out if it the same boat. does it have a checker board look toward the rear? I was tring to buy it but could never get it into the price range that I wanted to pay..Sharp boat!!

I'm installing two hatch scoops on my 28 Daytona. There's six bolts that hold the piece of padded marine board to the fiberglass hatch under it. I removed the padded board and thru-bolted the hatch scoops to the fiberglass hatch. I had the local body shop guy look at what I've done so far, since he'll be painting them and he recommended bolting them over the padded board (padding and vinal removed), so I won't have to cut the board up. Do I sandwich the scoops between the two pieces or bolt through everything? Sandwiching would require some extensive wood work. I just want to do it like they would at Eliminator. Does anybody know their process? Or I'm open for recommendations?
