1977 Excalibur 24' Questions
Driving around today I saw a 1977 24' on the side of the road. Just checking to see if there is anything special to look out for with this particular boat. I did notice there was some chipped/cracked paint near the outer starboard strake bend where it meets the hull. The drive has a speedmaster lower, but a weird looking TR or TRS upper. It has a bolt/cap looking thing on the rear upper. Also has the famous "Make Offer" If anyone else has purchased one in this era let me know what ballpark price. This one is in fair shape from what I could tell, I'll update more tomorrow when I go take a look.

I owned a 24 Excalibur...454..TRS drive. It was a good rough water boat. I have heard from others that you look close at the stringers. Mine was fine...miss old "Bessie"
Two years ago...asking $10000....fair price..only 123Hrs on rebuild. Good Luck

Check for rot in the transom and engine bedders/stringers. I noticed in mine the glass delaminated from the wood in the aft part of the stringers. Also check the entire bow deck around any drilled areas, especially the hatches. I paid $3700 for mine with a volvo 280 and sbc.

It is supposedly a custom order 24' speedster that came with a 442, now has a 454 .30 over, only 5hrs or so on it but was rebuilt 3 years ago. He wants $9k. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
