It’s definitely a cool piece of history. Would be awesome to see someone buy it off these packrats, and resurrect it. I’m sure it could be bought for cheap. If you’re interested in the hull ID I could try to do some snooping. Where exactly would I find it?

The HIN should be on the transom, below the rub rail, starboard side

It should start with NAP.......

Ok I'll see what I can find out and report back. May swing by on my way home tonight.

Well that was a dead end, assuming this is where the Hull ID used to be?

Oh well that is where it should be. Did you look at the port side?

That almost looks like it was covered up with some patch work or something at one time. Can't tell clearly from the pics, though.

In person it just looks to me like the plate was removed at some point. The area underneath is just less oxidized than the surrounding section. Wonder why they would remove it?

Maybe there was a plate but most don't use a plate, it is molded (stamped) into the glass. Have a 1974 which the HIN is in the glass

Exactly. Mine looks like it was etched in with a router on the starboard side of the transom.

Of the two other Excalibur boats I've seen in my area, there might be a plate somewhere on the dash or underneath where the wiring is for the dash. One owner told me that people would often add another plate with the HIN and the factory would sometimes put it on the dash. I have a plate for mine on the dash, but no engraving.

Interesting. I didn't spend too much time trying to inspect as its literally sitting in the weeds and brush that have grown around it.
