need help 24'

My '76 24' did not have the boxed in stringers, but my "Bennet" twin piston 16"ers were not thru bolted. Seal the backing plate and screws real well and keep and eye on the screws. Mine laste for 500 hrs no problem, screws never came loose!! (80mph boat - ran the #@%& out of it in rouph water). I bought the hull with the brand new tabs just put on. If your talking big K-planes, I would try to position the bolts through the transom so that they come out in the void beneath the box. Then I would drill about a 4" hole with a hole saw (big enouph to get your hand in) a few inches away from the transom in the top of the box. Just make sure you reseal the edges of the hole with resin if it's a wood core..........hope this helps..........

Drilling a big hole is what I will have to do. cause last weekend I ripped the bennet style mouning right out of the transom and broke both rams clean off. Tab gone. I was running hard in 6 footers and I landed stern first.
