Hey Cuda,
Looks like you have the same sprayer I do and are doing about what level a paint job I want to do to my 1978 jet boat. Did you have to thin that paint out to get it to spray good. how come you rolled the bottom?
thanks for the info!

Yes, I thinned the paint a little. I rolled the bottom just because it was easier. That paint flattens itself amazingly well.

I reduced it with the reducer they sell for it. I also ran out of it, and reduced it with paint thinner. I couldn't tell the difference.

I went the PPG route as recommended with Glassdave. Job turned out really good once Glassdave saved my butt. He is the man when it comes to this stuff.

I'm by no means a painter, had a little problem with the gun pressure so orange peel was a problem. Glassdave gave me some advise to get the gun setup properly and get the peel out. The ppg route is PPG DP Epoxy Primer, Deltron 2000DBC base and Concept 2021 or 2002 clear.

I have also sprayed the interlux stuff quite a bit, you use 213 reducer if spraying and 333 if brushing. The 333 doesn't evaporate as quickly so the paint hs a chance to lay out flat. Cuda if you think that stuff worked well, wait to you try their Perfection paint, its a 2 part that you need to apply over their epoxy primer. Thinners are 2333 and 2213N if memory serves me correctly. Its good stuff and I find it very easy to use.

I hope my boat painting days are behind me. I enjoyed painting, but the prep sucks! I can't do glass work worth a damn. I work, and work, and work at it. Looks fine when primed, but as soon as you shoot the shiny stuff on it, my glass works sticks out like a sore thumb.
