tell ya what PPG's latest formulation for MC161 in the Omni line is a heck of a clear for the money. I use DCU2021 on everything here but i shot 161 on my shop truck over two years ago and it still looks fantastic (when i wash it lol) I did it as a test bed and my supplier comp'd me the clear. It sands and buffs well and on my black truck it has not died back at all, i dont think i wax it more then once a year if that.

I'm getting ready to paint my Cig next week, I'm using PPGs 2021, i guess Wildman is asking the right question also what base? i will tell you that the base i'm using on the Cig is Dupont and PPg 2021 clear, but i had a huge problem using house of colors metallics with glaserth clear, it was a try coat and it would not work nomatter what i did the candy would peal right off, called house of colors, told them the branywine base keep lifting, not the silver, well they would not cover it nor did i think they would, because i used somelse clear, but it was worth a shot, finlly used 2021 didn,t have a problem....

Ppg over Dupont or vise versa, no issues. Just make sure the base is flashed off. We do it all the time on fac pak colors. In the middle of a candy job on a Tesla S as I type this lol. House of Kolor is great stuff and fun to work with if you can nail the techique. It took me a while. I will note the Dupont Chromabase has a window. If you plan on doing multiple colors and won't get it cleared in 12 hours topcoat it with clear base and scuff it with grey the next day before you start spraying again.
