Dave, I was planning on using cabosil as a resin thickener, I read a thread earlier in which you voted against cabosil. What would you use instead as a thicker along with the.25 chopped strand as a filler?

It's really been slow going due to holidays. Transom is only.25% gutted so far due to spending some time on forward bulkhead removing components. I need some opinions as to how to handle my new exterior. In the pics you can see where the old platform was and where the graphics/paint ends. Also, on port side there are two spots where it seems like the wrap tore and instead of patching wrap they painted the design directly on the hull, horrible! Thought about trying to match paint and bring it around the transom or maybe a fade into another color from after the B, I don't know. There are a ton of stress cracks that need attention from where the platform was. I would like to figure out how to tackle before ordering what color gelcoat.

Finally, more progress this weekend. Wood has been removed from transom and center stringer is out. The top half of center stringer was completely dry so it hurt to cut it out but you could see the water making it's way up though. I drilled some exploratory holes in all the stringers and front bulkhead to check for moisture. Bulkhead has signs of moisture but not bad. Should I use something like CPES or deskin and let dry?
I'm glad I don't have to replace the outer stringers with engine mounts but how do you replace the wood cut out between the new transom and rest of stringer? If the other four smaller stringers don't need to be replaced this questions stands for them also. I've read plenty of posts that say but joints are a "no no" but how else do you replace the wood. Here are a few pics for reference.

It looks like my short stringers are coming out along with some of the forward bulkhead. Last season I kept the boat in a slip and with the constant little leaks there was always water in the bilge. Looks like the forward bulked soaked up some water and then it transferred to the short stringers. Good thing is that my outer stringers with the motor mounts are completely dry so I'm leaving those and will join new wood to meet the transom. I will be replacing the wood and reglassing the bulkhead from the outermost short stringers and up about two feet from the keel. Here are some pics.

A little more done today. Removed all wet stringers and about half way through removing wet wood from bulkhead. I also notched remaining stringers for what I think is called a scarf joint. Here are some pics. I'm not completely replacing the bulkhead because I don't redo the remaining stringers and battery tray. The bulkhead does not seem to be load bearing so I think it should be ok splicing in new wood. Someone please advise if I'm wrong in my assumption.
