It is tan with a blue stripe and I think it goes to one of the two water temp sending units on the thermostat housing. If you would look and see if you have a similar wire it would be appreciated.

I'll take a look this weekend. You might also post this question to the tech Q&A forum. Is the motor a 7.4L or a 454 magnum?

I forgot to take the picture you requested over the weekend. Sorry about that. I do however have an older picture. Perhaps you can look at this picture and tell me exactly where you need close up shots.

Here are some pictures.
I didn't see a tan wire with blue strip at the main harness plug, but rather running along by the intake manifold. I didn't see where it goes as the wiring harness covers it. Perhaps a workshop manual could provide a wiring diagram.
