Just to let you know you're not the only one going at this pace - I pulled the Mags out of my '88 311 in Nov 05. The only thing I used over were the original blocks, I guess I'm sentimental, or maybe just mental. The engines are finally complete and ready to set except for carbs. When you found problems with your stringers I tapped and poked on mine for awhile. Lucky for me my stringers are in good shape, I only had to paint my engine area. I should set my engines next month but first I want to add hydraulic steering.

Thanks for this thread and posting the pics, I've enjoyed watching your progress. I know it's been a lot of work.

Neat valve covers! I don't remember reading where you got 'em? Is that adapter unique to the heads?
You're having too much fun putting these motors together aren't you? You even went all out with the orange (nice color choice) port covers; critter keeper outers...
I've got to re-read your thread here and see what specs you shared (if any).
WHEN DO THEY GO TO THE DYNO? Hopefully that'll keep you motivated!

The Valve Covers are KE 2 piece .... Adapter ? The lift Plate ? its universal ..available Summit or Jegs ..The port covers are mostly to keep a 5 year from hiding stuff there ... ... I dont think we are going to dyno them ...The HP will be what it is .... We ran em on the stands and seem fine ...your looking at 1000.00 + to Dyno them ..m
