No way to know until the skin is off the bulkhead ...but your right on the stringer ...replace the whole thing ...

Mike.... I have repaired these problems before on smaller boats and some welcrafts. Being that you have the engines out and now needing some glass work give me a email back and I will give you my number to call me and help you out because I done this before.

I'm still trying to come up with a reasonable reason why we even own these things....... they cost more money than ex wives.....

I don't know about anyone else, but for every hour I spend on the water, I spend ten to fifteen hours cleaning and maintaing it.

I need to win the Lottery so I can pay somebody else to do it......

Hey Bob .. I was wrong about the bulhead .. All the plywood is toast .. So..... more research .... the stringer is mush ...but I think its only about 18-20" .... Ever heard of seacast ? http://www.transomrepair.com/ ..Looks pretty good but is expensive ... prob more than 2K ... just for the material....

Lot of people have used that on the board, Some place there is a thread on it. I think in the GD area. I am not sure that I would do it but the people that did seemed happy with it.

like I said ... over 2K for the material ... I bet <500 for plywood .... the stringer seemed to just dead end to the Bulkhead ... I would think it would have been notched in ..If it just butts into the transom end seems would be easier to cut the whole thing out and replace. along the bottom it is glassed in but there is a path for water to run to the drain plug ... So the stringer is squared on the bottom with the V of the hull providing the path .... I plan on calling formula to see what they suggest ...
