I was watching the video: "running water". What a cool video! It had lots of shots of really nice vintage Formula's...ya know the SR 1 series. Anyway, a few of them had windlass' installed . I've actually thought of doing that on my 292 SR 1 but didn't know how to begin.

Can someone give me a starting point as to which kind of windlass to use and some close up shots of the installation and maybe even a brief description as to what is involved.

I noticed the same thing on that video. I am going to explore it on the 357 when I get it. Brent does not think there is enough room up front for a locker.

It would sure make life a heck of a lot easier with a windlass!

I agree 100%. I hope the locker has enough room for 150ft of rope. I would then just use a little shorter chain and a small low profile windlass.

There are some small profile windlass' that would work(most of it below deck) and I think the 357 has enough room for it and some rode. But the 292 and 311 have smaller cavities up front, might get a little tight. I don't tend to anchor enough to make it worthwhile but it would be convenient. What would you do to store the anchor? I can't see a performance boat with a pulpit sticking out

Its the music video a few threads down. They actually look pretty good with a stainless davit and plow anchor.
