This WAS about the Formula Owners Rendezvous in June 2006. It has been updated to reflect conversations regarding an informal get-together at Dock Of The Bay Restaurant. (See page 2)

Original thread:
----------------------------------
Who else will be there? We'll be running down from the North end of the bay on Friday late in the morning, if anyone wants to join up.
FirstOffshore - Are you in?

Same weekend as Leukemia Poker Run
What a shame, both events are a blast.

Ted - Sorry we won't see you guys this year. The Rendezvous has been moved from Great Oaks to the Hyatt.

If I go I'll be towing most of the way. 13 mpg diesel VS 1 mpg gas.....lets see now. Started a new job too , with with a goofy azz schedule so the could screw things up too

Chuck,
Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to make it. I was looking forward to it all year, but we are going to be out of town that weekend. Have fun...as you know, it is a first-class event. I highly recommend it to anyone with a Formula.

[QUOTE=chuck21401]I wish I had a bigger cabin (and A/C!) on my boat. Rooms are $439/night at the Hyatt.[/QUOTE
$439 A night
I'm glad I have A/C and I don't care about the size of the cabin , it's big enough as long as it's cool
On a brighter note , I guess the hotel rates put a new perspective on the price of gas

Yep - The Hyatt is pretty proud of that facility (docking is $3/foot + electric + "resort fee"), but most of the participants from the last two Rendezvous' wanted to go somewhere besides Great Oaks. The organizaers looked at several places, including St. Michaels, but selected the Hyatt based on amenities. No doubt - it is very much a 1st-class place. $439/night is way steep, though. Chuck - Have you tried looking for other hotels in the area? Even if you had to take a cab, it would be worth it - you won't be in the room at all anyway.

I heard the Hyatt is already sold out. If anyone needs info on other hotels PM me, I can give you some ideas.

Oh and Chuck, I think the 3.00/foot is the discount rate-normally it's 3.75 on weekends I think
Wait till you check out the bar prices
