Prop pitch reduction for high elevation
I plan to go to take the 382 to Lake Tahoe later this summer. My boat has HP 500 EFI's. It runs 28P bravo 1 props or 26P Maximus props near 5200 RPM.
Anyone have any experience with how much I might have to reduce prop pitch when going to Lake Tahoe? Tahoe is over 6000 feet elevation.
Thanks,
Garrett

We have sold a small # of boats out there.Generally go down one pitch size,i.e. 26 B1 or 24 Maximas. Just a start, there are variables,as in all prop selections.

Call Tahoe Vista marina in Tahoe. They have a few 382's on the lake. They are very helpful! I looked at a 382 there last fall. Most have 575 blower moters because of the altitude. Don't expect too much I know some boats can hardly get on plane. altitude is radical.
