Killer TA, you removed your rubrail and prepped and painted it? I'm still trying to figure out how Outlaw did his. Someone said he used Krylon Fusion paint. Did he just tape it off and paint it or did he also remove the whole rubrail? Did he use a prep too? To paint the rub rail just tape on both sides of the rail. Lightly sand to scuff. Then paint like you would any other surface. It was really easy. Formula 1- My 311 is still in Cape Coral if you ever want to see it. Since the new owner bought it in Febuary he install all new gauges, controls, snap in carpet. It still looks like new. Next he is redoing the interior in all white with the Formula logo on the rear hatch. |

I used laquer thinner to clean the rail with, and contact cleaner to clean the hatches with. Sprayed multiple light coats. It holds up surprisingly well. |

Two, what did you paint your rubrail with? I was thinking of changing the rubrail out in favor of white with stainless inserts. But, I heard that is a nightmare! yes, I used Krylon Fusion paint. I have a verbal committment on the boat but no money has changed hands yet. I am planning on delivering the boat next Sunday and will call him tomorrow to confirm. But as with everything, money talks. For what I'm asking for Outlaw, someone is going to have a very nice ride.....complete with rebuilt trailer with all LED lighting. |

Painted the black footstep cupholder along with the handhold white, to update the look a little bit. Since both are aluminum, I just used outdrive/sterndrive primer and paint. An almost perfect color match. Also installed new cupholder with the fusion blue. :D
Painting the vents just on the outside also. |
Re: Calling All Older Formula's
Treads, where did you get that bezeled cupholder? Did it fit exact or did you have to cut it to fit properly?

Painting the vents just on the outside also. If you're thinking about doing your vents, there is some chrome engine bay vents for Formulas listed on ebay. I've bought new chrome letters off this guy, he's good to deal with!! here's the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-pak...temZ4640288572 |
