Re: Anyone have pics of their aftermarket exhaust?

Thanks, t500hps. I just want to make sure the exhaust gets the proper flow. I had to cap off the outlet from the thermostat housing that USED to feed the old Merc manifolds and ONLY use the outlet that USED to feed the old Merc risers. Stainless suggested using BOTH outlets (from old manifold and riser) but I can't find a "t" that'll work with the big 1" hoses that need to be used.

Treads has that nice t-stat housing in his pics, but I haven't heard back as to whether or not it has the provisions for the temperature sending units.

Yes they do have provisons for the temp sensor, just on the left hand side, looking at the front of the motors. It has three ports, temp sender, pressure and alarm.

Housings are available from a company named Sierra, see link below.

Hope this is helpful. :D

Thanks for the kind words Treads. The boat was a salt water victim when I bought it in 2000. Manifolds were rotted inside and water damage to the engines was pretty severe. I made it 2 years with just a change of manifolds and then my evil twin took over. Lot's of paint, powder coat, stainless and internal engine goodies later, this was the result. Oh, almost forgot. Had a major portion of the cockpit interior redone at the same time. Almost cost me a divorce! :D

Results were outstanding, though. Went from 65.6 mph @ 4800 to 72.3 mph @ 5400. I know it would have seen 75 with the right wheels but someone bought it before I could even dial it in! :D Ohh well, now I'm shopping again. Here are some pics of the rest of the boat. The in water shot is in Destin, which is where I'll be headed in about 24 hours! :evilb:

Thanks for the pics! Those motors look nice! :drink:

These pics are showing what I suspected...that everyone seems to have an aftermarket T-Stat housing for plumbing to the new manifolds and risers! I finally figured out the routing using the factory T-Stat housing. It looks like I'll be asking Santa for a pair of polished T-Stat housings! And, maybe if I'm really good, I can get a pair of chrome air breathers! :evilb:

Re: Anyone have pics of their aftermarket exhaust?

F1, it wasn't necessary to plumb the new exhaust. You just have to be a little creative when using the stock t-stat housing. I bought my stainless t-stat housing at the same time I bought my crossovers. Needed the bypass feature so I bought both (x2 motors - gotta love twins - engines I mean :D )
