Aft screw in windshield moulding breaking
#2
The final fastener at the aft section of the frame should be a through bolt. I believe the factory install is through-bolted, although it is not very easy to reach the backing nut. When I removed my fairing and replaced it with a windshield, I through-bolted every one that I could reach.

RedDog - Was your 311 thru-bolted? I just tightend my windshield per your instuctions, none were thru-bolted, and I'm pretty sure it had never been apart before me. If it gets loose again I'll try the thru-bolts - sounds like a good idea.

The W/S screws are long S/S self tapping screws with a white coating on the threads, kind of a high tech sealant to keep them tight. Never had a problem at all over the years.
