We've overnighted a couple times with it and cannot hear it running with the cabin door closed...even in the middle of the night!!!! and BTW: It straps down in the engine compartment when traveling so it's out of the way and only on the boat on trips where it's needed.
I'm almost positive the newer Formula's have the CO2 sensor in the cabin .. I would test it often and maybe a battery powered backup ... I have no time to be mourning over the loss of one of you guys ... Russ , there is no vibration issue with the honda Gen? They are incredibily quiet .....m

The Honda has rubber feet but I set it on the platform and use a dockline to tie it off to the railings just incase. It's only used when anchored out and were on the hook. Since the boat pivots to face the wind I feel the exhaust is mostly carried away behind the boat. (We also have the cockpit cover on once we go to bed)
