Trim Sender or Trim Gauge?

The trim gauge on my boat never seems to work correctly. When I "trailer up" the gauge moves but when I simply adjust the regular trim it doesnt move much. Is this normal? I have never seen the gauge in the middle. Do I have a bad sender or possible a bad gauge?
Thanks in advance!

Bad sender most likely, the gauge itself rarely fails. Probrably have some corrision in the sender.

I also would say sender. Take it apart, clean it up and try it. I
