Default Trim Sender

Does anyone have any tricks on replacing the trim sender on a Bravo 1 without pulling the drive. Is there a way to remove the compression bolt?

You can get to it by turning the drive full right turn (you may have to remove external steering ram to turn it far enough) and use a 1/4" drive, 7/16" swivel socket with extension. I also use a set of "pronged flexible jaws" (can't remember what they are really called, you know the tool you use to fish something out if you drop something where it shouldn't be!) to grab the head of the screw to pull it out the last turn or so and to get it started for reinstall. Pull another wire or string through with the old one to pull back the new wire(s). If you have good lighting and good access it's really not too bad.
Good luck.

FYI - merc now sells the potentiometer by itself for $13. It's much cheaper than buying the kit for $75 and removing the drive.
