how do you remove waterline after each outing

how do you remove the waterline after each outing

our local lake which accesses lake michigan is lake Macatawa ( we call it lake macatoilet)

anyway. i get a greasy waterline every outing.
I wipe it down immediatlye when i pull the boat out , and i wash the boat each outing but the waterline is staying.

I don't want to etch it with bowl cleaner or anything becasue the boat has a great finish.

I was finnessing the bow this weekend and trie a little of that on a small spot. worked ok, but some line left. i want to get it perfectly clean first and then wax again, ( and double wax on the waterline)

same issue with the transom

so what works

ON/OFF on the hull (waterline) and then 2 coats of wax. The crap will wipe off for 2-3 months beofre you'll need to re-do the procedure.

ON/OFF will take EVERYTHING off!!! (I usually cut it to less than 50% strength because of this)

thanks Jeremy
I'll try that
I have some for my truck tires.

i jsut don'y want to have to buff, polish, and wax everytime

I have a box with clean towels and 3-4 spray bottles with either simple green or a general boat wash mixed up.....when i'm done boating and as soon as the boats pulled out of the water i hand everyone thats onboard with me a bottle and a towel and put them to work! :D And i usually once a month or so wax the boat to keep it shiney and help in the wipe down

Find a product called Slimy Grimy. It comes in a little tub about the size of Cool-Whip, in a granular form. Mix it up in a spray bottle, either like a hand held spray bottle, or small lawn sprayer.

http://www.slimygrimy.com/

West Marine sells it, Boater's World might, and your local marina may carry it as well.

It works WONDERS.

You guys have access to Roll Off? Not sure how it differes from On/Off, but I get a greasy scum line every time I pull out at one particular ramp. I just wet down the hull, spray a little of this stuff and wipe it with a brush. Comes right off.
What I'm not 100% sure about is whether this stuff takes all the wax/polish right off with it...
