I haven't read your whole thread but just curious if the person doing your engine work is a marine engine guy? There are more differences between marine and automotive engines than a lot of people know. Lots of variables, gaskets, valves, cam, bearing clearances, piston to wall clearances, cam choices, how much timing. All these things add up to making marine power much differently than strip power. An engine that works well on the strip might not last too long in a boat.

**UPDATE**
Well after some debating I went ahead and bought new heads. Went with 308cc Darts. The block is done and bought one new piston. I talked to Precision Power today and he going to get on them right away. We are also going to do a cam change as well. I hope to gain some power and have a turn key boat!!! i will post results after the build! |
Good luck CB you could use a trouble free summer:drink:

***UPDATE***
Dynoed one yesterday all in all good. 454 HP and 514 TQ this was with manifolds @34 degrees. At full throttle the motor was plently fat BUT Ben found that at part throttle it would go into 14.8-15.0 AF. Prolly why the motor came apart last time. he called me and said he ended up with 84 squared on the jets. i hope to be testing on fri night. I will post the dyno sheet when i get it :drink: |
Well i think the drama is FINALLY over. Test run last night other than fine tuning the idle the boat ran good. ALOT of little things had to be done but i think she should be trouble free!!!:drink:
