NO KIDDING!!!! :D That was pretty cool seeing a couple guys carry on a conversation and having NO IDEA what they were talking about. Makes you realize the U.S. isn't the center of the universe!!!!

Been 96 in one with 600s. Extremely low on gas, tweaked props and an world champion throttleman.

What kind of speed do you see when it is warmer ?

Phazar, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner.....the slowest i have been able to go is 68mph...flat salt water....full fuel...5 fat bastards on board 95 degrees and humid as hell .I will say that the engines had less than 50 hrs at the time and I was still learning the boat. On an avg day...80 degrees 1-2 foot chop..1/2 fuel 3 persons, 72-74 is a solid do-able top speed.
The cold dry November day made a HUGE difference in performance, and top speed.....Eric

353 w/ 496's; fastest the boat's been is around 80ish.
Then the wife said to slow it down, as we were trailering on the interstate highway at the time! :D

I'd love to see a new 353 without all the bling. Fiberglass fairing , Gaffrig Monsters , billet , etc. That is a great design.

like this?

here's the skinny on HO power, and it's right on, if not a little conservative in ideal speed conditions.

note the weather, flat water, and 115 gals fuel.

What happened to the Senators claimed dry wgt of 9500 lbs.??? This shows 8575, actually I think the Formula site shows at 9500 as well. He's always claimed he was way heavier than my last Fountain. The new Fountain is heavier than the Formula 353???

The 12-16" chop is not exactly flat sticky water, I would consider it close to ideal for good numbers for something in the 35' range. Not bustin here, just an observation and an opinion.

So what is the real deal on the weight???
