certianly it is the minimum to get a 10K lb. boat bottom "broke free".

I think a good 2-3 footer is easily managable with it all hung out and certianly faster than 16".

I have no idea. Mine says 8575 DRY. Have scales right next door. I have been planning to wiegh mine, then subtract what the trailer wieghs on the scale after launch, subtract for approx. fuel aboard and a couple hundred lbs. of gear to get a general idea. Oughta be pretty accurate really.

I may have missed it, but I have not seen a 525EFI speed. I'm looking at a 353 with 525's and extension boxes........anybody have a guess on speed? Thanks!

Seems like you don't see many 353's w/ Ext. Boxes. May just be me though...

90% of the 353's we sell have Stellings boxes. Since it is not listed as a factory option, many people think it's not available, but it is a factory option, they call it a silent option. Most of ours run 85-87,had one that consistently hits 88-89. ITS boxes are a little slower.

Magicfloat,

I may have talked to you yesterday about your 353's. You invited me down to the Birmingham show. So, the extension boxes slow you down?? What's the advantage?

No,they give you a little more speed and improve the handling just a little as it fools the boat into thinking it is a foot longer. Also helps resale value.Leaving for show in a few minutes. Call me on my cell if you come down and I will get you in free. 205-275-9260.Robert

I believe that Robert had said that ITS is slower than the Stellings boxes. The ITS is Mercury's 7" extension box (steering built in). The Stelling box is 12" and the steering is still a separate unit

I'm the one that was confused, but I get it now.

Robert,

I'm going to try to get down this weekend. I will call you when I get there. Thanks!
