I think a good 2-3 footer is easily managable with it all hung out and certianly faster than 16".

90% of the 353's we sell have Stellings boxes. Since it is not listed as a factory option,many people think it's not available,but it is a factory option,they call it a silent option. Most of ours run 85-87,had one that consistently hits 88-89. ITS boxes are a little slower.

No,they give you a little more speed and improve the handling just a little as it fools the boat into thinking it is a foot longer. Also helps resale value.Leaving for show in a few minutes. Call me on my cell if you come down and I will get you in free. 205-275-9260.Robert

I believe that Robert had said that ITS is slower than the Stellings boxes. The ITS is Mercury's 7" extension box (steering built in). The Stelling box is 12" and the steering is still a separate unit
