If you have a lots of both of these .......... you won't lose oil pressure. Hence if you don't you will end up like the other picture .... (look closely) .... :lolhit: Love ya Bird !!!!! Jeff So if I follow this right Bird ran out of gas, which resulted in the loss of oil pressure? Which resulted in him being a Bird on a Rope? Or did the motor take a chit like the trailer brakes? |

Dave,
the 4th was a bit of a cluster... got to the ramp, ran for 3 minutes then no re-start starboard! no fuel I was guessing checked the water seperator...yup, dry uh oh got some fuel and filled the seperator and thought I might be in business... long story short, lost a boost (fuel) pump, but was able to run off-plane on the injection pump. so there was no getting on plane! did the ThirdBird dream and trawled around Henderson Bay (though the dream is one big step ahead of being on a rope!) drifted in White's Bay and yapped with Mike Owen for awhile (he went to leave for Kingston and lost a boost pump just days earlier!) later fast idled over to sixtown point and spent the night on the hook. nose into a 15+ wind blowing down the hatches all night, crystal-clear starlit skies, NO bugs, fireworks off in the distance and closer :drink:. slept 10 hours with watch on the 5th spent the day anchored in the sand field south of Campbell's Point. awesome day there! wasn't all I looked forward to with the boat issue, but we made the very best of it! :) |
ordered the pump Tuesday morn, here this morning, R&R'd by 10 am.
going out Sunday, thinking about the River for the day |
'Bird I have all the brakes off my trailer!
been reluctant to scrap because it's all good parts! ALL the surge actuator guts + drums/hubs/bearing sets bagged/labeled and stamped matched to the hub they came out of! + complete backing plates (shoes, wheel cylinders, pins/springs...complete! This is low mile stuff!) and six BRAND NEW wheel cylinders in the box! you can have it all for spares, doesn't take up that much space and you would have ANYTHING you need right at hand! come and pick the chit up! I'll NEVER use any of it, you just might! |

Jeff I thought things that happened at Sodus stayed at Sodus. I could tell some stories about you and the pool, but I won't. In any event, to all those reading this, Jeff was The Man!! Towed me in, got on his whamadyne hand-held satellite powered crackberry and got the marina to open back up after hours so I could get fuel. Thanks Buddy!!!!! By the way, the Sodus trip for the Fourth needs to become an annual event. We should have booked docks before we left. Nice marina, very nice. |
Bird, my extremely better half booked us 4 slips for 2011 with Kayla before we left Sunday. How 'bout that Explorer show:poopoo:?
