Thats cool Pete. Like you said, it's her boat. If she comes down sometime we'll see what happens. Thanks for your help.

How about Revolution Marine exhaust? Any good? Price is nice.

I got a quote back from them a few weeks ago... $1210+shipping, per... Here's the interesting part.

"We've been working with Eddie Marine and have recently combined our systems. It's the same manifold design, the main change is that now you don't need any other brackets to go with the kit (ie: ign/ecu & o il header, shift interrupt). It's ready to bolt on and go."

My guess at this point is that Revolution is shipping this:

So, Revolution and Eddie are now one in the same?

Bird,

Try this www.douglasmarinesupply.com, have an ad in the classified section under "engines". Have EMI and Gil, advert says best prices bla bla. The EMI Thunders are supposed to be a good set up, much like the Gils, but less money. CMI did make a system they called Uni-Tops, a headder system at a fairly reasonable price.

This Douglas Marine is right here in N.Y.

My 311 has Stainless Marine and they do everything you're looking for. I have one set off right now and they look perfect, thay have something like 350 hours and about 10 years on them.

Thanks for the input Ted. Looking for major weight savings over stock, are the Stainless Marine much lighter than stock? I boat in fresh water so aluminum is my goal.

I don't know the whole story either, but I called "Revolution Marine" about a month ago to see about getting spacers for their exhaust. I don't think they realized it, but I could hear them in the background talking..."just tell him 'we're out of stock and it'll be a few weeks', and call Eddie Marine, I think their spacers should fit."

So I don't know who is doing the castings, but I figure the Revs were a copy of EMIs anyways. Don't recall which drives you have, but with my Bravos my exhuast has a 3" spacer between the manifold and riser. I made the mistake of getting a good deal on two full exhaust setups, but didn't realize I needed spacers.

If you're looking for a simple-ish and inexpensive change, consider the OEM 496 manifolds and risers. Mercruiser does make some manifolds in cast iron, so you need to make sure you ask for/get the aluminum manifolds. But otherwise they're a direct bolt on. The risers are tubular and stainless steel so a paint stripping and polishing should make them real pretty. Teague has a few sets and they get $325 per engine set; pretty darn cheap for aluminum/stainless setup in my opinion.
