Default 382 Props: Merc vs. Hydromotive

Anybody have experience comparing the 2 with 500EFI's?

Is one faster than the other?

Are the diameters interchangable/equal?

Thanks.

Fred,

Try Julie @ Throttle Up.

I got a 5 MPH higher cruise w/Hydro 4 blades. Maybe 1 MPH more top end.

I never got around to trying 5 blades, but that's what the new 382's com with, so they may be better.

You can borrow before you buy . . . just like Trick Marine! Right?

ApachePete,
Can you give us an example of speed vs rpm at 3500 and 4000 rpm with the bravo's and the hydro's and the pitch. I have been trying a few different props and cannot beat the cruise of the 28 bravo's (50 mph @ 3500 rpm ) some of the props are five blade. Jeff

The boat and the data are in FL: I'm in MI.

As I remember, the cruise @ 3,500 with Bravo 28's was also 50. It was 54 with Hyrdos.

I don't recall speeds @ 4,000 rpm's.

ApachePete,
Thanks for the info. Do you know what pitch you ended up with?
Jeff

Check with Turbosonic1 - I think he was playing around with different props on his 382 last year.
