well..................my wife and I are debating our boat situation right now. We have a nice, stock 89 311sr1, Palm Beach, 454 mags, bravos, trailer. We are looking at either a 280 SS or Sea Rays version of the 280. Yeah, I know "a searay!?!?!?". Anyway, we have not fully decided which way to go yet. I hate to give up the ride of that big bird. Its fun to drive, it looks cool, its comfortable, I love it. We think we may want more cockpit space though. So, maybe you and I should chat a little. Its Friday, 3:30 pm. I'm taking off to dump my "ThirdBird" in the drink for the weekend. I'll be back on line Monday if you want to chat.

Tbird

Go for the F311... the more power the better as she is one heavy boat. Runs 5-6 footers and it is FUN FUN FUN.

We have 420's and I want to bump them up soon.

Trevor,
I already own the 311, we're just considering a 280ss. My post above was in response to the first post in this thread. Of course, thats not very obvious is it, since I didnt address it to anyone. I can be pretty stupid at times!!

Anyway, the first guy was saying he wants a 311. He'd be making the right choice. I think the 311 is just the right size. Tons bigger than a 292, not so big to be hard to trailer around. Plus, the new ones (1992 and up) are nice but they just don't move me like the older ones. When I see a late '80s or early '90s Formula, I just stop and stare. Hell, I stare at my own boat. They are what a boat should look like! Don't you think???
