The photos will really help. I want to move the vac flush and battery so I can easily access the sea strainers. I'm not sure I will re-install the hinged floors. Thanks

Twins, I think I'll have a cigar

600 pounds, 40" long....Thanks for the battery pics. It looks like my vac flush will fit alongside the gunnel next to the motor. Does anyone see a problem with that?

C_Spray 04-05-2008 11:12 AM

Man! You are making real progress. Have you got a team of guys working on that thing full-time?

...You might just check and see if you can get the Vacuflush system in and out without having to pull the starboard engine. (Maybe just the headers????)

It's amazing how small that "huge" engine compartment gets when you stuff all the machinery in there.....

I wish I could leave the trunk out and make a full size hatch cover. It sure adds access near the transom. I can get the tank out. With the captains call assy gone it's not that big of a deal to remove the headers to get to the batteries or vac tank. Formula said they did not see any problem with the tank on the side. I'm leaving the floors out to access the strainers. I'm moving the seacocks from the bottom to the notch in the transom. We'll see. Thanks for the input guys. Dave

Cool project !

Did the transom have to be redone ?

Just looking at the pic's of the transom before and after,
it appears that the bravo cutout is slightly lower than the
NXT.

fossil fuel 04-06-2008 09:28 AM

Transom

The lower 1" of the bravo cutout had to be filled. All the upper bravo holes were removed with the larger NXT cutout. The latham steering holes were filled and the transom gelcoated inside and out. The exaust holes are about the same. We went from 4'' to 5" for the Gatlin mufflers.

Almost finished

The merc rep is supposed to be here monday, should sea trial tuesday, leave for Desert Storm wednesday.....Good Grief. Here is a transom photo of the new drives.
